Large, centrally located houses in Sofia are still available. Some are of historic nature in very attractive neighborhoods in and around the center of town. Many are currently or could be converted into professional offices, high-end retail stores, embassies or multi-apartment dwellings. In holding a property like this, one option is to refurbish it for multi-unit rental income with the intention on reselling it at a later date to a buyer who is interested in converting it to one of the uses listed above. The rental income will offer some return on the capital during the holding period.
